3 Generations Of Safely Scrapping Metal & More!

George’s Salvage Company Inc. is a family owned and operated business for over 3 Generations. We were founded by George Miller Jr. who began driving his truck around Sussex County to collect scrap metal from local farmers. In 1961 Miller founded George’s Salvage Yard off of Route 206 where it now sits behind Weis Market. By buying adjoining plots of land, he and his son George Miller III, who is the current owner along with his son Michael Miller, expanded the yard until it took its present shape. The Yard has come a long way from those humble beginnings, with over 20,000 tons of material being moved through the facility each year!

Going Green!

Recently, George's Salvage decided to 'go green' and help to improve the environment by installing solar panels on the building, reducing our energy usage by 75%. Also, we have installed "Inter-Charger" units on most of our Fleet. This small, but effective unit reduces the toxic emissions on the equipment as it decreases fuel consumption.

George's Salvage recently celebrated its 50th year in business, and is proud to have had three generations of Millers running the business. Thanks to all in the community who have supported us, and remember our slogan, "Don't throw it away, sell it!"
